Tell us about yourself and what you do outside rugby?

Well, there really isn’t a lot of time “outside of rugby” for me. Right now, I do a bit of rugby coaching, player management, and run a rugby recruitment site (www.pitchd.careers). When injury-free, I even try to play some rugby. Outside of that, I moonlight as a Fraud & Risk Ops Manager.

When and how did you start with Manila Nomads?

One of the lads in the office put me in touch with Dave Feeney, and 12 months later, I rock up to a session, back in 2017. It has been hands down the best decision I have made since being in Manila.

What is your favorite rugby move, skill or position?

I love the physical contact aspects of the game—no frills, get stuck into the opposition. I have since grown a softer side that acknowledges the odd piece of skill these days. The best part of the game has always been the friends you make and the experiences you share. This has been true of all the clubs I have been involved in.

Tell us of any unforgettable or funny experiences you had in Manila Nomads.

I’m so fortunate to be part of many firsts at the Manila Nomads, especially those ushered in or involving the Rogues. It’s been a real privilege to be involved.

Just recently, we had two Rogues named in the 30 women strong Lady Volcanoes squad. What a win! Many more to come, I am sure.

What more can we expect from you as Nomads’ beloved coach?

More fitness!

I really want to continue to see the Rogues grow in numbers and skills, but also I would love to increase the number of local boys and girls running out in Nomads colours!

Any message to anyone who wants to try rugby?

One of the best things about rugby is that there is a position for every body type. It’s more than a sport, it’s a community. Being involved in that alone is worth giving it a go.
